In line with our values of a student body based on solidarity, no one should be excluded from studying at Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) due to financial difficulties.
If paying the semester fee is causing you particular difficulties, you can apply for a grant from the Semester ticket compensation fund. On this page, you can find out whether you are eligible to apply and how the process works.
Who can apply?
You are eligible to apply if you meet the following criteria:
- You are duly enrolled at LUH.
- You are not already exempt from the obligation to pay for the semester ticket (e.g. via a standard refund application).
- You can provide evidence of particular financial need.
- You submit your application by the deadline.
Application deadlines:
- For the winter semester: 31th October
- For the summer semester: 30th April

- Fill in the form for the Semester ticket compensation fund
- Attach the relevant supporting documents
- Send everything to the AStA
